Down by the river
by the boats
Where everybody goes
to be alone....
Alaric pulled heavily on his lead, his pink tongue lolling from the side of his jaw in an almost playful expression. His sleek fur glinting in the sunlight as his muscles rippled and rolled beneath the silken sheen. Maori sighed at the other end of his leash, tugging against him in vain as she tried to remain at a normal walk. However, the large German Shepherd/Gray Wolf mix towed her easily along. "Al, slow down."
Maori hissed between clenched teeth, giving another useless yank on the leash. She was getting weird looks, some angry some amusedly curious, but they were all embarrassing. The teenager ducked her head feeling vulnerable and exposed, like every eye was on her. Unfortunately, while her new view point of the sidewalk under her stumbling feet allowed her burning face some sort of cover, it proved to be a rather unhelpful position for watching where she was going.
Maori's only warning that she was about to run into someone was a flash of fabric beneath her nose. Her head jerked up and the next thing she knew she was face-planting in between someone's shoulder blades. The young woman jerked back, the hulking beast finally stopping at the end of his leash. Alaric turned, his hackles raising as he slunk to his master's side and lowered his head protectively. Even as Maori began to apologize, a low growl was rising in his chest. "I'm so sorry, please- Alaric! Shut up!"
The high schooler finally cried at him, causing the canine to fall silent even though his silver eyes bore into the person who would dare touch his master. "I really am soooo sorry.."
Maori began again, her golden eyes turning to see who she had ran into.
Where you wont see
any rising sun
Down to the river
we will run.....
