He sighed as he sat at the edge of the water fountain. After he had left the Cherry Blossom Groves, he realized he had left his sketchbook. He couldn't g back after saying a lie, and he gave a deep sigh. "Guess I'll need another one." He said, looking to the ground. Granted, he could get another one, but it couldn't help him remember everything that he would soon forget.

The cherry blossom grove was impeccable as always. Too bad they haven't bloomed completely yet. The young man thought grumpily to himself. He looked around again. Still, they were indeed a beautiful sight. Most of the other students in the school had no idea he could be so sentimental, nor did he let them. As Tsubame silently continued his walk towards the exit of the groves he noticed paper staining the beautiful image of the garden. Upon closer examination of the book he mistook for trash, he looked at the first page's drawing. It was very well done. Tsubame looked around for anyone that could be the beholder of the name, Rime Blaze that was etched into the book's interesting cover. Tsubame had never seen nor heard that name before.

Tucking it neatly in his satchel, he continued his walk now with observing eyes looking for a plausible owner of the book. There was a little bit of a crowd within the town square, but that was no trouble for the slender boy to wade his way through. He asked several people about the elusive "Rime Blaze," but no one knew them or didn't know where he could be located. "Great." He muttered becoming frustrated, as he plopped down on the rim of the fountain opposite the other person occupying the north-most side.

He had finally come to a decision. He got up from the fountain and gave a deep sigh yet again. "As much as I'd hate to not search for the other one, she probably threw it away." He said to himself, walking to the other side of the fountain. He had come to a conclusion and was on his way to the shops, stopping a bit and looking back towards the fountain, almost next to the boy sitting on the South-side of it. "Once I get the new sketchbook, I guess I'll come back here and draw this." He said, with a small smile.

Tsubame heard the something ruffle behind him. Years of wandering the streets back in Xi'an, China had forced him to be on guard at all times. He quickly glanced back to see the other person who was previously sitting, now standing up and leaving. His frustration seemed to drift away from him now, just like the clouds drifting away from him in the pale blue sky. The black haired boy let his body recline in a relaxed position as he absorbed the sun and listened to the pit pat of the fountain droplets fall back into itself. Today was just a day to enjoy the new scenery for him. He tilted his head down every now and then to scan the area for anyone who seemed like they would sketch the things in the book. Although, sketching itself was such a private thing. No matter how good he was at observing people, the talent of drawing was a tough one to dig up. But Tsubame figured he'd rest here for a bit and just intake everything here. Occasionally a cute girl would saunter by and catch his shy eyes, but he never made a motion otherwise.

Just as he was about to leave, he noticed the boy looking around and thought to himself for a bit. He moved a bit closer, wodnering if the boy was looking for somebody. Without his book, his shyness completely disappeared. There were no memories keeping him away from people anymore. "Hey, are you looking for somebody?" He asked the boy at the fountain, his eyes trying to make eye contact. He figured that was what the boy was doing, from how he kept looking around.

Face after face passed, no one caught his sharp eyes. Tsubame heard footsteps approaching him and quickly turned his face to greet the creator of the rhythmic sounds. "Hey are you looking for someone?" The newcomer was a young man like himself, except white hair white as frost and dark eyes. Just the opposite of him, like Yin and Yang. He couldn't help but smirk as he let out a small "hmph" sound for a laugh. Immediately he snapped back from his thoughts and figured the frost haired boy took it as an insult. "Erm. Yes. I'm looking for..." Tsubame paused awkwardly. "An artist." Was the lame ending to his otherwise sociable sentence. The interloper wasn't shy about waltzing up to the usually intimidating male, forcing eye contact, and speaking with kindness, to the shyer boy who had ingrained himself upon the fountain's rim. This person didn't seem like the type at all to draw out those sort of things and emotions in a book.

He looked at him strangely and confused. "Why are you looking for an artist?" He asked the boy curiously. His eyes never left his face, making out ever little detail he could of the boy sitting down at the edge of the fountain. "Well, if you'd like an artist for a drawing, I could draw you, but I'd have to get a new sketchbook. The old one I had has been lost." He said with a small sigh. "So, if you want a portrait of yourself done, I can do it once I head over to the store and buy myself another one."

The black haired boy couldn't respond. He was somewhat stoic and shy, and the characteristic strongly showed through at the moment. The male that had approached him, asked if Tsubame wanted a portrait of himself. What a shallow and vain desire... He murmured in an inaudible decibel. But the part about losing his sketchbook caught his attention. Still, the dark haired boy kept quiet as the snow color haired boy looked as if he had more to say. However, it was just more on the question of whether or not he wanted his portrait done. Eventually the dark eyed boy did mention he was going to the store to buy a new sketchbook. Oh that reminds me... "How convenient. I need new writing utensils anyway." The image of Trever Valens taking his utensils in an earlier class and flicking them at people as if they were disposable, replayed in his mind. Tsubame sighed. "I shall accompany you." He quickly flashed a small smile before abruptly standing upright. He covered short distances fast with his long legs, sauntering towards the store, having almost forgotten the used sketchbook was in his shoulder-slung satchel.

He looked at him strangely as he walked on ahead and shrugged, following the boy to the store. Once inside, he began looking for a sketchbook that was nearly identical to the one that he had lost. He searched all over the store, but to his dismay, they did not have a sketchbook similar to the one he had. He gave a sad sigh and began looking for a decent one afterwards.

Two black ink pens... A couple pencils... Perhaps one to use as Trever fodder... Haode. The chinese male looked over to the white haired boy. He seemed disappointed in the selection of the sketchbooks. They hadn't restocked recently and must've been out. The only ones left had lines in them or were travel-sized. Too small to do much more than some doodles. Tsubame heard the frost haired student sigh in either sadness or frustration. He placed his hand upon the other young man's shoulder before speaking in his deep voice, "It'll be fine. They'll restock the store soon." Tsubame left the other boy to go check out.

He placed the utensils in his satchel where his hand felt a foreign object. He withdrew his hand that now wore a smudge of graphite. Oh right, the book's in here. Tsubame gently slid the book out of his bag to assess the damage he might have caused to any of the pictures. There was a slight smear on the page his hand brushed against. "Oh crud," he muttered while standing there looking over the book again, "Now this Rime Blaze will be upset his drawing got damaged." He gritted his teeth as his expression reflected his frustration.

He gave another deep sig before looking heading over to the other boy. He saw the sketchbook and looked at him strangely. "Hey, I didn't know you sketched too." He said, a bit surprised. He smiled a bit at looking at the sketchbook. "It kind of looks like the one I lost." He said as he looked at the drawing, which was now somewhat ruined. "Ahh, that sucks man, it must have been a really good drawing too from the way the image was before." He said smiling at the boy. He offered his hand to him for a handshake. "I never introduced myself properly earlier. The name's Rime, Rime Blaze. It's a pleasure to meet you."

The agitated expression was quickly stripped away by a newly formed surprised one, as the snowy haired boy mentioned his supposed sketches. Tsubame looked down at the ruined, but still detailed sketch on the opened page. His mind temporarily zoned out as he studied for the first time more than just his clumsy addition to the picture. It was a very well drawn piece, really. Such a shame my rough hands tried to "tango" with it. He snapped back in time to hear the dark eyed boy sympathizing with a ruined piece of time-consuming work. Before Tsubame had any time to explain his trepidation, the young man stuck his hand out towards him. This was a typical European style of greeting someone, or at least a Western one. None the less, the dark haired boy extended his large hand for the formality of it. However, as the young man introduced himself, Tsubame was caught off guard by his name.

Although it was believable now that he knew the guy sketched, but for him to have drawn those images that laid like fresh roses in his large, calloused hands, was a little shocking. Tsubame's eyes and intuition didn't miss too much. But he was not about to let the shock and anger at how close-minded he was, show through and dent his pride, or a possible newfound friendship. The grey eyed boy lifted up a non-smudged picture to show it to the young man. It seemed to be of a young girl, or someone of the like. "Don't you recognize my beautiful artwork?" Tsubame chuckled at his joke before handing Rime his handiwork. "You're the true artist here. I apologize for my input on the one." He said with a dissipating smile. "My title is Feng, Geming. Please call me Tsubame." He said before the traditional bow.

He looked at the sketchbook in his hands and back at Tsubame. He was filled with join at the return of his precious book as he looked to Tsubame once again. "Thank you so much!" Exclaimed Rime as he gave Tsubame a big hug, but right as he was about to pull away from the hug, some person had bumped into Rime, forcing him foward as his lips met with Tsubame, his eyes going wide as they made contact.

The frost haired boy who turned out to be the evasive Rime Blaze, as if suddenly condensed in overexcitement, blatantly revealed his thanks in a loud voice. Rime then launched towards Tsubame for friendly hug, as an exertion of his overflowing emotions of happiness and relief. "Urgh.. Ummm..." The dark haired boy shuffled awkwardly in the white haired ones' arms. "Okay..." He sighed as the hold on him slackened signaling the end of the hug. Whew... Okay that was a little too close for me... Tsubame scrunched up his face in the split second before he saw it. Someone wasn't paying attention before mindlessly bumping into Rime before muttering the empty, "Excuse me." But none of that mattered now. Even though he was only a few inches shorter than Tsubame, Rime's lips had been forced to lock on onto the shyer male's awkwardly parted ones. For a moment that seemed to go on a long time, both males seemed to be so shocked neither of them moved for a solid handful of seconds before Tsubame quickly recovered as he slowly back off Rime with an awkward backwards shuffle. A horrified expression had played itself on his paled, now slightly blushing facial template. No... No no!! This... This isn't how my first kiss was supposed to be like?! Especially with this... Nansheng!!! (male person in mandarin) This...! Amerian Man!

Rime's eyes were wide, a blush on his face as he looked at Tsubame who had pulled away. It was completely unexpected, and he was left speechless at the events that had happened in a matter of seconds. The awkward silence hung in the air for a few minutes before he had decided to speak. "I...I am so sorry. I..I didn't know this would have happened..." He said, looking down. This was his first kiss, and it wasn't with someone he had loved. It was with a boy he had just met, probably a classmate of his. It was unexpected, and he had wished he could turn time back and stoppe himself from hugging Tsubame so that way he could have preserved his first kiss.

For a good solid amount of time neither of the two spoke or moved. Finally though, Rime broke the silence with his own trembling voice that threatened to crack. But the dark haired boy couldn't force himself to move for another few seconds that seemed like forever to him. Eventually he forced himself to regain his composure, even though his face was still painted a very gradually eroding red. Tsubame straightened up his clothes in anyway possible to cover up any remnants before he finally spoke evenly, "Umm. So. It's almost lunch time. Why don't we head on over there." At least no one seemed to see the occurrence except maybe one or two people that bowed their heads and slinked away at the sight of his now slightly anger-induced, intimidating silvery eyes. But his expression softened as he saw no more witnesses. Tsubame didn't look towards Rime, as he finally returned the sketchbook to its rightful owner, before wandering off the way he usually did towards the cafeteria.

He looked down in shame as he followed Tsubame to the cafeteria. He completely hated the person who had bumped into him and forced him into Tsubame. He sighed deeply as they reached it, looking over the menu.

The cafeteria's menu today wasn't as inviting as the young haired boy would have liked. He sighed deeply shortly after his company did. "Sometimes you just miss homestyle dumplings, am I right?" He sighed. Tsubame really did miss his family's cooking. And the street vendors that were always around with interesting food that knew him and his family by name. "So. Xiao Hua. Ha! That's a new nickname for you since you're just a little bit shorter than me. Anyway... Found anything that suites your appetite?" He chucked nervously while burying his face in his menu to hide his awkwardness. Urgh... I just can't keep a conversation going after earlier... Why is it so hard? Urgh... He felt even more shame after that last thought. Okay, it's only awkward if you make it awkward... Let's go! Even after his in-mind pep-talk the most he could force out was more trivial small talk.

He nodded slowly. "My family used to cook, and they taught me how to cook too." He said as he looked over the menu. Nothing really caught his fancy as he let out a deep sigh, putting the menu down. "There really isn't anything too interesting here." He said, looking down to the menu. "Speaking of missing home meals...what made you decide to come to Ouran Tsubame?" He asked slowly, not moving his eyes from the menu he just put down.

"Oh that's interesting. Where is your family from? Or what kind of meals do you cook?" The dark haired young man spoke over his menu. Oh, they have rice bowls today at least. Tsubame himself was proficient in most traditional chinese dishes. "Do you want some rice at least? On me." The silver eyes of the one boy had become almost unclouded by awkwardness before Rime asked about his decision involving Ouran.

Funny how so few words can take someone back so far, but Tsubame decided to trim the trivial stuff on the important things. "Well, for starters I am the eldest of my siblings. I learn languages quickly, so after perfecting english back home, my parents sent me here to study Japanese. My family is fortunately rich enough to send me here even though I'm on a severe scholarship." He took a sip of the complimentary water. "What about yourself, Rime Blaze?" He focused his narrow silvery eyes towards the dark eyed boy before him.

Rime thought for a bit before answering his question. "My mom was from Japan, and my father from Spain. I learned how to cook both of their styles of cooking. What about you?" The words "was from.." rang in the air for a bit. He nodded as Tsubame offered to get ricebowls for both of them. "Next time it's on me though." He said, smiling a bit at Tsubame. "That's pretty good, my grandparents are rich, so they sent me here to try and cheer me up and to get a good education." He said, looking down. He kept some information from Tsubame, hoping that he wouldn't pry any further than he wanted to speak.

Was from... Does he still have parents? Sill, Spain's pretty cool. The chinese boy's body bent over the table in a pensive way as the dark haired young man busied himself with trying to piece together the snowy haired boy's past. Cheer him up, eh? Must've lost his parents too. Tsubame sighed. It seems as I'm the one with the special case of both parents... He shuddered as he dared not ask more. But if the dark eyed boy wanted to un-shroud himself with mystery, Tsubame would listen intently. But only if Rime was willing to say more. The waiter finally brought out the rice bowls. Loading up on soy sauce, the chinese boy feasted using chopsticks he had brought in his satchel. "Want a pair?" He offered a pair of his own chopsticks. "So, Rime. How do you like Ouran so far?" A simple question, not prying too much. "Got any special lady friends?" He smirked towards the new owner of his first kiss. He just hoped he didn't have some fancy fiance already planned out for him by his parents or anything that would seem as if he was digging at Rime.

Rime smiled and took the chopsticks happily. "Thank you." He said as he began to eat slowly. He looked up to Tsubame when he asked his question and shook his head. "Not right now, but there is a girl who I want to go out with. She's also my roommate." He told Tsubame with a smile. "How about you, do you have any special lady friends?" He asked him as he continued to eat his food.
