The garden.

Rime sighed as he lay on the ground, staring at the sky. He watched the clouds go by and the beautiful blue sky. It had been sometime since he had relaxed like this on his own, considering how he had spent much of his time with his friends recently. He enjoyed the peace and quiet once in a while, but still prefered the company of others. Everyone else was busy right now, so it gave him the perfect time to relax alone. "I hope one of them gives me a call or something soon. Being alone sucks." He sighed as he mumbled those words to himself.

Yue had just enrolled at Ouran. He had just finished talking with the principal regarding his enrollment. Although the president had promised him a tour around the campus, The principal couldn't do so and apologized profusely. The principal told Yue that he's free to look around if he wished to as he is already gonna be a student once the papers were finished. Taking the offer of the principal and looking at this chance to get to know about the place, Yue decided that he could take a tour for himself.

Yue started to walk around. He didn't really know which place was located. He just followed where his instincts might lead him hoping that he won't get lost in the process.


"Man.. This place's big! It was not like this at my school before.." Yue said to himself as he passed through corridors which was labyrinths to his eyes. After finally getting a bit irritated of his lacking sense of direction he went to a window nearest to him and check to see if he could just jump out. Luckily, It seems that this window was near to the garden and this was only at the second floor. He held his breath, mustered a bit of courage and leaped out. As soon as he touched the ground, he rolled to cushion his fall.

"What a mess I am.." He said to himself while trying to stand up and brush off dirt.

He looked around now at his new environment and saw a another guy laying in the ground, alone on the far edge of the garden. "He seems like a student here.. Maybe, I could ask some directions from him.." he said as he approached

Rime had just noticed out of the corner of his eye somebody jump out of a window. He saw the boy roll and stand up. "What a strange boy. Why would he do such a thing?" He asked himself, noticing the boy walking towards him. He stood up and turned to the boy. "I saw your little stunt. Seemed interesting enough, but why did you do it?" He asked right away. He held out his hand, offering a handshake. "Glad you aren't hurt though. THe name is Rime, Rime Blaze." He said. He didn't seem like the shy character that he looked like from the distance.

"Oh.. so you saw that, huh? Now that you mentioned it, It's kinda embarassing." Yue said as he grinned and scratched his head.

"I was a bit lost, you see. And I thought the quickest way out would be through a window. Surely, it wasn't the best idea but somehow, at least I'm out of that maze. I'm Yue by the way, Yue Akechi." he said as he reached and accepted Rime's handshake. Oddly enough, It seemed to him that he could get along really well with Rime.

Rime shrugged a bit. "It was pretty cool, I could never do something like that." He said, laughing a bit. "Anyways, don't you have a map of the school?" He asked Yue out of curiosity. "If you're a new student, there are maps by the principal's office and by the entrance to the school." He said to Yue.

Yue grinned. "If only he knew that he was only able to do it in the spurt of the moment.." he said to himself. Repeating a feat like that would take another great deal of courage for it was really nerve-racking.


"Ohh.. I didn't bother getting one back at the entrance because the principal told me that he'd personally give me a tour but he had something to do when we finished my enrollment." He apologized for his wrong anticipation that he wouldn't need a map.

Rime smiled and handed him his map. "I already have the layout of the school covered, so you can have my map. I don't mind one bit." He said to Yue as he loke over to the school. It didn't seem that big to him anymore, having spent some time walking around the area and getting to know the layout.

"Thanks!" Yue exclaimed as he took Rime's map and slightly opening it to take a peek. "Now that I'm looking at this, I feel stupid for going in circles in this area" He said while pointing to a portion of the map.

He looked at Rime and speculated that he must have been in this school long enough to get this map memorized. Maybe if he tagged along Rime, He'd remember most of the places by the end of the day.

Yue just had to ask.. "Are you alone? Do you mind if I tag along with you for now?"

Rime smiled as Yue looked over the map and positioned himself to where they weree. He heard him as his question and he nodded. "Yeah, I'm alone. All my other friends were busy, so I decided to relax by myself for awhile, but it got kind of lonely and boring, so I don't really mind if you tag along." He told Yue.

"ohh.. so here we are.. and then.." Yue mumbled as he traced a path on the map.
Yue had to memorize some of the landmarks nearby just in case he gets lost yet again. He rolled up the map afterwards and placed it in his knapsack at his back before he loses it.

"That's good then! I really haven't met much people here. Actually, You're the first one that I could talk to aside from the principal." He said cheerfully.

Rime looked at him and smile a bit. "The school's pretty empty as of right now. There are a few students here right now. I haven't met them all, but the ones I met are really good people, except for one guy my roommate was telling me about..." His voice trailed off his a sigh. "Every school has to have at least one bully I guess." He said as he shrugged. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll love it here."

" I guess every school has one,huh? So much for my peaceful high school life.." Yue said and sighed in displeasure. "I guess I'm worrying too much. It's not like I'm a magnet for bullies, right? Hehe.."

"So, what do you guys do most of your free time? Is there some kind of game centre where you go to or something?" Yue asked as he was curious on the life on his new school is about.

Rime looked at him curiously when he asked his question and shook his head. "Nope, I'm sorry to say. I've been around most of the area, and the only things that I've done to pass the time are hang out with my friends or my girlfriend." He told Yue as be shrugged.

"Ahh I see.." said Yue as he scratched his head. Although he's sociable and quite popular in his previous school, Yue was not that good in making conversations. He was always the one whom people talk to but never actually starts a conversation. It was difficult for him to remove this rather awkward atmosphere building up between them.

"So, What's the plan now?" Yue asked as he has really no idea of what to do.

Rime shrugged. "I'm not quite sure. Is there anything that you would like to do?" Rime couldn't sense the akwardness, but he was bad at being social with people and sensing if anything was wron or bothering them.

"Now that you asked me, I don't know what to do too." Yue said while putting his arms on his waist. "I usually find myself lost in deep thought whenever I'm alone or just sitting somewhere observing other people. Too bad there ain't much to observe today.."

Rime looked at him and thought for a bit. His eyes began to turn to a light shade of green as he looked down at a branch and picked it up. "I've always been interested in kendo. I took some classes before, but the people in the class weren't as good as they though." He turned to face Yue. "Have you ever done any kendo classes or training?" He asked him.

"Sorry.. I didn't have any kendo classes but my grandfather did teach me an ancient art passed through our ancestry." said Yue as he looked up trying to examine his past. "Would that do?"

Rime looked at the boy, hearing on his words about an ancient art. "It depends. What kind of style is this ancient art?" He asked as he turned to the left and begun to do practice swings in the air, warming up a bit.

"I don't really know myself. My grandfather taught me these arts but I never really did remember what it's called. He was in the army before and these so called arts were taught to them. Since I was often bullied, My grandfather taught me so I could defend myself. I guess you could say this is one of those martial arts, though." Yue explained as he watched Rime throw some swings.

Rime stopped swinging and turned to face Yue once again. "Sound interesting enough, but I assume you don't use wooden swords or makeshift wooden swords like in kendo, right?" He said as he dropped the branch down and stared at Yue.

"You guessed right. We don't. Although my grandfather told me to always carry a pair of gauntlets in case I get into trouble with a weapon user, I always tend to leave them around. It's quite rare to see people holding weapons in broad daylight." said Yue. Yue was quite amazed how interested Rime was into these.

Rime smiled. "That sounds quite interesting. Maybe I could teach you kendo and you could teach me that ancient art if you'd like." He said as he stretched a bit. "I really don't know anything else other than kendo, so I'm pretty bad at self defence. I just know the basics, but nothing that could help me in a fight against someone who's trained and had experience in a fight before." He admitted to him.

"That'd be awesome! I'd love to try kendo. Trying something new for a change is good,right?" Yue said as he stretched his arms for a bit of warm-up.
